Required Documentation

✓ Valid State Photo ID or Driver's License

Plus ONE of the following documents to prove authority:

• Certificate of title

• Valid vehicle insurance certificate

• Tax collector's receipt & registration card

• Notarized power of attorney

• Court order

• Notarized insurance proof of loss/theft claim

• TXDOT registration information matching your ID

• Current lease or rental agreement

• Law enforcement agency credentials

• TDLR approved form (available at facility)

TDLR approved forms are available at our facility and online at www.tdlr.texas.gov

Retrieving Personal Items

✓ What You Can Do:

The vehicle owner or authorized representative may remove personal belongings from the impounded vehicle after presenting:

• Proper identification
• Required documentation (as listed above)

✗ What Is NOT Allowed:

Vehicles may NOT be dismantled. The following may NOT be removed:

• Engine or engine parts
• Tires or wheels
• Installed stereo systems
• Any permanently installed vehicle parts

The facility may require you to sign a receipt documenting all items removed from your vehicle.
